It is really difficult to switch completely from soft contact lenses to rigid contacts but this will help you in keeping away from dry eyes and its consequences.

Anything else…. well, you should not sleep when you wear them, cuz it may prove disastrous, just clean them regularly after every use, change ur lenses after max. 1.5 year and keep an eye-wetner handy, cuz lenses dry up pretty fast.

Proper Care Of Contact Lenses
If your eyes are dry and irritated you can also use eye drops to remoisten your contacts while wearing them rather than trying to take them out. In fact, if your eyes do feel dry and the contact is sticking try to remoisten.
